The short version: Custom full brim hard hats branded with your company logo, in your safety color, with the 4-point ratchet suspension your crews actually want. ANSI-compliant, OSHA-approved for general construction, and priced for the kind of bulk replacement cycle a real crew runs (typically every 24–30 months in the field).

Why a full brim hard hat instead of a cap-style

The full brim hard hat is the crew favorite for any work that puts sun, rain, or falling debris on the back of the neck. The brim runs all the way around — not just the front like the cap-style hat — which is why you see it on roofing crews, utility crews, oil & gas, and outdoor commercial construction. The cap-style hat is fine for indoor and shaded work, but in the field, a full brim earns its place.

Custom full brim hard hats also have more branding real estate. The brim itself can carry a logo around the front edge. The crown takes the company logo or department label. The back panel takes the worker name or crew designation. Three placement zones on one hat means your branded gear actually reads from a distance — useful at multi-contractor job sites where it’s not always obvious who’s wearing whose hat.

What you can customize

Element Options Notes
Shell color 14 colors including hi-vis orange and yellow White for foremen is the trade convention
Front logo Full-color decal or screen print Up to 5" x 2.5" print area
Side logos Smaller decal, both sides Trade certification or crew designation
Back panel Worker name or crew ID Vinyl stencil or printed sticker
Brim accent Reflective tape, color band Adds visibility in low-light work
Suspension 4-point or 6-point ratchet 6-point for all-day wear comfort

For the front logo, screen print outlasts decals in field conditions. We’ll quote both but our recommendation is screen print on the front and decals on the sides and back where the imprint is replaced more often.

ANSI and OSHA compliance

All our custom full brim hard hats meet ANSI/ISEA Z89.1 Type I, which is the general construction standard for impact protection from above. Class E (electrical, rated to 20,000V) and Class G (general, rated to 2,200V) are both available depending on your trade requirement. Electrical and utility crews almost always need Class E. General construction is usually fine with Class G.

Our customization process — screen print, decal application, suspension installation — does not affect the ANSI rating of the shell. Drilling holes or applying paint, by contrast, can void the rating. We use only the manufacturer-approved methods so your branded hat remains compliant for OSHA purposes.

Bulk pricing tiers

Quantity Per-hat tier Typical buyer
12–49 Tier 3 Small contractor, single crew
50–199 Tier 2 Mid-size GC or specialty trade
200–499 Tier 1 Large contractor, multiple crews
500+ Custom contract Major construction firm, utility, or industrial

Replacement orders for the same crew at the same imprint reorder at the bulk rate even if the reorder quantity is below the original tier minimum. We keep your artwork on file.

Color-coding by trade or role

Multi-trade job sites often standardize on shell color to identify role at a glance. The conventions vary by region, but the most common system is:

Shell color Typical role
White Foremen, supervisors, engineers
Yellow General laborers
Blue Carpenters, electricians (sometimes)
Green Safety officers, new hires (training)
Red Fire watch, emergency response
Orange Road crews, hi-vis general use

For a company outfitting multiple roles at once, we can run different shell colors in a single order without separate-order setup fees. Your logo art runs once; we apply it to whichever shell colors you specify.

Lead time and the project-start clock

Standard production for custom full brim hard hats is 3–4 weeks from approved artwork, plus ground shipping. For project mobilization, that’s typically fine if you order during the bid-award week. If you’re already on site without branded hats, talk to us about a phased order — ship a smaller initial batch in 10 business days, follow up with the rest of the crew on the standard 3-week cycle.

Procurement notes for safety managers and project managers

We’re set up to work with construction company procurement: W-9 on file, certificate of insurance available on request, net-30 against PO once your business office is on file. We can ship to a single office, split-ship to multiple job sites, or hold inventory and release in waves as you onboard new crew members — this is popular with larger contractors who add 10–30 workers per month and want hats on their first day.

For union shops, we comply with the relevant trade purchasing language and can list our products by ANSI rating and ASTM compliance on the invoice. For government or municipal contracts, we provide the documentation required by the contracting officer including country-of-origin certification.

FAQ

What’s the minimum order for custom full brim hard hats?

12 hats for the standard customization tier. Below 12 we can do a single stock hard hat with a printed-vinyl logo, but the screen-print program starts at 12.

Can we get Class E rated hats for electrical work?

Yes. Specify Class E in the quote and we’ll source the appropriate shell. The customization process is identical; the underlying shell is just rated for higher voltage.

How long does the screen-printed logo last in the field?

Two to three years of normal field exposure for the front screen print. Side and back decals typically last 12–18 months and can be reapplied without replacing the hat.

Are these hats compatible with our existing chinstraps and accessories?

Yes. The shells take standard 4-point and 6-point accessories including chinstraps, ear muffs, face shields, and lamp brackets.

Can we order replacement liners separately?

Yes. The suspension/liner can be replaced separately when it wears out (typically 18 months in heavy use), extending the life of the branded shell. We sell replacement liners at the per-unit rate without minimum.

What’s the ANSI expiration on a hard hat?

Manufacturers typically recommend replacing hard hats every 4–5 years from date of manufacture (look at the date stamp inside the shell) or sooner if the hat has been impacted. The branded shell is identical to the manufacturer’s standard shell — customization does not affect the lifespan.

Can we add the worker’s name to each hat?

Yes — the back panel is the standard location for worker name. Send the name roster and we’ll add 3 business days to the production timeline.

Do you offer hi-vis or reflective add-ons?

Yes. ANSI 107 reflective tape on the brim and crown is available as an add-on. Several utility customers run this configuration on every hat for visibility in low-light or pre-dawn work.
